Air compressors are valuable devices for car owners. They are designed to make it easy to maintain the right tire pressure. There are various options available. I choose these devices depending on the kind of tires I intend to use them on. Some are quite versatile and I use them to inflate different tires. Here are some of the air compressors I have tried and tested and would recommend.
Viair 00073 70P Heavy Duty Portable Compressor
This model has come in handy when I need a portable compressor to ensure adequate tire pressure while on the road. One of the features that impressed me is its 12 volt-100 PSI maximum working pressure. My car engine has to be running when I use this compressor. It also offers 1.27 CFM free flow @ 0PSI.
I also got a luxury carry bag when I purchased this device, making it easy for me to carry it around. This compressor is designed to inflate 225/65/R18 tires. All I have to do to use it is plug it into a 15 ampere power port, link it to a valve stem and then turn the device on. It also comes with a 16 feet power cord and 4 feet air hose. I found it quite easy to use and there are some installation instructions that came in handy when I was unsure about what to do.
Kensun AC/DC Heavy Duty Air Compressor Tire Inflator
This is a multifunctional inflator that is designed to work under AC 110V or DC 12V. It is capable of pumping to about 40 PSI. It comes with a 21.7 inch air hose made of quality rubber. This air compressor also has a 9ft 10 inch cord that has a cigarette plug. There are three nozzle adapters on this compressor. This device is one of my favorite because I can use it on my lawnmower, caravan, SUV, scooter, bike, car, truck, and motorcycle tires. I have also used it to inflate my camping and sports equipment including balls, air mattresses, and rafts. It has made it easy for me to inflate my children’s toys as well.
VIAR 85P Portable Air Compressor
It offers a 12 Volt-60 PSI maximum working pressure. This device only works when the engine is still running. It is portable and is powered using a secondary power outlet. There is a pressure gauge placed on this compressor and this makes it easy to determine when the tires are well inflated. It also features a bright LED light. It takes me between 1 and 5 minutes to fill up tires with this device depending on their type. Its power cord measures 10 ft while the air hose is 3 ft long.
VIAIR 00088 88P Portable Air Compressor
This compressor provides 12 Volt-120PSI maximum working pressure. The engine needs to be running while I use this device. It also offers 1.94 CFM free flow @ 0PSI. This is another one of my favorite portable models. It is powered through alligator clamps that are attached to the battery. I used it for sedan, SUV, truck, and small ATV tires. Its power cord is 9ft long while the air hose is 12 ft in length.
